College Outreach

With 1,015 chapters on 687 campuses, InterVarsity is working to reach into every corner of every campus.
InterVarsity chapters minister to students and faculty through small group Bible studies, large group gatherings, leadership training, thoughtful discipleship, and life-changing mission trips.

Tyler Ross graduated from Millikin University in May of 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. He originally planned to pursue a career in finance or economics. However, God has changed his plans by calling him to come on staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship to be a campus missionary at Richland Community College in Decatur and Illinois State University in Bloomington.

Tyler writes: “InterVarsity has been one of the most foundational experiences in my time at Millikin and in my life.
Growing up, I had always been taught to love others as God loves us by my parents and church. However, it was such a different experience being away at college and trying to live that out on my own. Thankfully, I got connected with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship as a freshman. Since then I have taken on leadership roles and have seen the Millikin chapter grow from 10 people during my freshman year to now involving over 50 students in 6 weekly bible studies, a weekly large group gathering, many social and service events, and even bringing God into tough issues relevant to campus life. InterVarsity has taught me so much about loving others and has given me a heart for ministry on the college campus.”
“InterVarsity’s mission is to see students transformed, campuses renewed, and world changers developed. My role on staff is to engage college students, creating an open and comfortable place where anyone and everyone can learn about God. I’m excited to encourage students to pursue a deeper relationship with God.”
“I am very excited to be serving as a missionary with InterVarsity, but I also know this will be quite the challenge for me. I truly value your prayer, your support, and your advice!”

Tyler is responsible for raising the financial support to fund this ministry and asks that anyone interested would prayerfully consider to join this team.  He will be staffing two campuses;  both Richland and Illinois State.
